Get The Mac Viva Glam Day Look

Aisha Baker , Jules da Silva and I collaborated with Elle SA and Michelle-Lee Collins in the #ELLEBeautyCloset , in recreating an evening and day look for Viva Glam.

Here is a step by step explanation by MAC senior make-up artist Michelle-Lee Collins, as to how I got my bold day look:

1.First, I prepared their skin with MAC Marine Bright Lightful Softening Lotion that moisturises, clarifies and brightens the complexion.

2.I used Strobe cream on Aisha and Jules to create a ‘built-in’ glow before applying foundation. For Anelisa, I opted for Marine Bright Formula Moisture Cream before applying Prep+Prime Natural Radiance that also controls oiliness.

3.I used MAC’s famous Face and Body Foundation with a 159 brush and Matchmaster concealer to give all three a naturally flawless look.

4.To set and finish the foundation, I brushed on MAC Careblend Pressed Powder with a 132 brush.

5.To keep the look fresh, I gave each a soft pink blush. I chose Well Dressed Blush for Aisha and Jules, and Fleur Power Blush for Anelisa.

6.Each one’s eyebrows required something different. On Aisha, I used Brown Ebony Prolongwear Waterproof Browset; Jules’s had to be filled in and I used Soba eyeshadow, and I used a spiked brow pencil to give Anelisa full natural-looking brows.

7.To frame the eyes, I used Vanilla Eye Shadow on Aisha and Jules, starting at the lash line and extending it to their eyebrows with a 217 eyeshadow blending brush. For Anelisa, I used Soba Eyeshadow. From then on I did the same for all three: I used Mystery Eyeshadow to define the crease and outer corners and buffed it out with Hot Paprika Prolongwear Eyeshadow before softly blending soft pink Passionate Eyeshadow into the inner corners of their eyes . To create extra definition, I used Coffee Eye Pencil and gently buffed it out with a brush. Lastly, I applied kohl inside the waterline and False Lash Extreme Black Lash mascara to define their lashes.
